The EU, an "LGBTQIA+ Freedom Zone"?: In March 2021, the European Parliament declared the EU an "LGBTQIA+ Freedom Zone", which stated that every member of the community would receive equal freedoms and rights shared with all Europeans. However, considering that some Member States like Ireland and the Czech Republic still have discriminatory laws towards queer men in regards to donating blood, how can the EU ensure equality in the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community in the field of health?
