The Country of Catalonia: Prime Minister of Catalonia Puidgemont organised an illegal independence referendum on October 1st, 2017. Violence between La Guardia Civil and Catalan voters ensued. 10 days later, following the voter turnout, he stated that Catalonia had gained statehood.
