CULT

The decline of quality journalism: The commercial fundamentals of press media within the Union are suffering from a dual crisis: an economic downturn translating into lower revenues from advertising and the de-institutionalization of journalism. Due to financial pressures and time constraints, journalistic standards have been severely affected by biased reporting, raw propaganda and full-on fake news. How can the European Union effectively tackle misinformation while respecting the fundamental freedom of expression?

ENVI

Evading healthcare: Given the discrepancies between different healthcare systems across Europe, many citizens choose to elude their national bureaucracy and be treated in other well-equipped foreign hospitals. Considering the introduction of the European Health Insurance Card, how can the European Union ensure a unified approach towards healthcare, to provide treatments that are more equal to all European citizens?

IMCO

80 % of European companies have experienced at least one cybersecurity incident over the last year. Cyberattacks are very often cross-border and concern more than one Member State, affecting the countries’ interconnected infrastructure. What urgent measures should the European Union take to set common cybersecurity standards and step up cooperation among Member States?

ITRE

Clothes to die for: The price of clothing has been decreasing for decades, while human and environmental costs have grown dramatically. From wastewater emissions to air pollution and energy consumption, the textile industry has become the second largest polluter that weighs heavily on the environment. For this reason, what can the European Union do to reduce the pollutants emitted by the fashion retail, while satisfying the demand for fast and cheap clothing?

TRAN

The road to success: Lack of infrastructure in Eastern Europe countries considerably affects access to the Single Market, with consequences to economic growth and territorial cohesion. Considering the positive effects of a better connectivity and accessibility between Member States, what stance should the European Union take to create a strong, sustainable transport network on both roads and railways?
